Small oenological gems. How could one better define Ruchਠ‘ A rare Piedmontese grape variety that is cultivated exclusively in a small area in the province of Asti. Certainly less well known than the region's holy monsters such as Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, Ruchਠhas a typical and very pleasant aromatic note that makes it very recognisable and special. A wine that, in local tradition, is reserved for festive occasions, celebrations and solemnities. A wine of great pleasantness, it is the red to serve throughout a meal, certain to surprise more than one expert friend. Intense red in colour with purplish highlights, on the nose this Ruchਠdi Castagnole Monferrato San Pietro Realto proposed by Cantina Bersano immediately reveals a very intense bouquet, with floral hints reminiscent above all of roses, and delicate spicy notes. On the palate, however, it is harmonious and velvety, pleasantly savoury and dry. Excellent as an aperitif, on the table it satisfactorily accompanies hors d'oeuvres and cured meats. But also white meats and, for lovers of strong flavours, the very classic Bagna Cauda, with garlic and anchovies. A versatile red, Ruchਠalso lends itself well to being served slightly cooler in combination with a simple slice of freshly seared tuna.
