The first thing that strikes you when you look at the label of this wine (and all the others) from Cantine Patrଠis its obvious 'Sicilian-ness'. A sunny landscape with prickly pears in the foreground and the blue Mediterranean Sea in the background. The basis, in this case, is a grape variety that, although classically understood as international, is undeniably linked to Sicily, with excellent qualitative results. On the island, Syrah is capable of expressing intense and structured wines, elegant and complex, which blend the fresh scents of native fruits with the innate spicy sensations. Then, after racking, the wine is put into second and third passage barrels and barriques for about 6 months before being bottled. In the glass, this fine Syrah has a ruby red colour, with slight purple notes. The nose is elegant, complex and typical, with delicately spicy notes reminiscent of black pepper and cocoa.
