Librandi "Asylia" Bianco Melissa DOC 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Brand: Librandi
Its origin is easy to guess. The white Greek, in fact, although a grape variety that is grown mainly in Calabria, seems to derive from Greece, having arrived in our south over the centuries, finding an ideal climate and soil here. Characterised by medium-sized bunches, with berries endowed with a thick, pruinose skin, in the cellar it proves to be extremely versatile, yielding excellent sweet wines but also, as in this case, fragrant dry whites. A 100% Greco bianco, Asylia Melissa Bianco DOC proposed here by the Librandi winery, comes from careful processing of the best Greco grapes, vinified in steel, with soft pressing and ageing, again in steel. This is followed by a brief stay in the bottle for a few months before release. Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose opens with citrus nuances and light vegetal tones. All made even more appealing by the subtle mineral vein. In the mouth it is fruity and floral, with good persistence. Pleasantly savoury, it goes perfectly with fish-based first courses. To be served as an aperitif, this white will certainly accompany the whole meal with gusto.
