Le Moire "Annibale" Calabria IGT 2018 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Brand: Le Moire
His label certainly stands out. Clear are the references to the epic feat of Hannibal and his elephants. In this case, Hannibal is an IGT Calabria, produced by Le Moire. An unusual blend of Sangiovese (40 percent) and Magliocco Dolce (60 percent), a native cultivar of Calabria that is characterized by its antiquity and importance in the region's wine production. Careful processing begins with manual selection of the grapes. In the winery, a slow maceration of the grapes at a controlled temperature and the soft crushing continue. Everything is done to preserve the typicality and fragrance of the ripe fruit, enhancing the characteristics of the grape varieties used. The resulting wine thus has a fruity and fresh character, expressed through the notes of small berries and ripe blackberries. In the mouth, it is smooth and supple, with a pleasant final persistence that recalls the fruits heard earlier. Excellent with elaborate first courses, such as baked pastas, cannelloni and lasagna, but also with grilled meat or fish main courses and medium-long aged cheeses.
