Abbazia di Novacella St. Magdalener Alto Adige DOC 2021 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Brand: Abbazia di Novacella
St Magdalena. Or rather St. Magdalener. In each case DOC. We are talking about one of the most interesting red wines in the Alto Adige area. Here in the interpretation (as always masterful) of the winery of the Abbey of Novacella. It is described as the most full-bodied of the wines made from the Schiava grape. A wine that is capable of giving great satisfaction both when young and if you have the patience to wait a while before uncorking it. In this case, a small percentage of Lagrein grapes is added to the Schiava, about 90%. Both vines are grown using the traditional pergola system, which guarantees lower yields but decidedly high quality. Brilliant ruby red, it is a symphony of fruit and flowers. From cherries to violets. In the mouth it is harmonious and velvety, with a slight aftertaste of bitter almonds. In summer, it can be served slightly cooler than normal as an unconventional aperitif. In winter, on the other hand, it is a very satisfying accompaniment to meat and game dishes.
